MINDSET: Do you compare yourself to your past younger body? READ THIS.
This is your invitation to stop comparing your body to when you were basically a child.
Sound familiar?
👉🏼My mom reminiscing about her “college bod” days — only to be reminded that the body she has now birthed & raised 3 (sexy af, might I add) kids & that DOES continue to exercise now
👉🏼Us reminiscing about our size [random #] jeans days, scrolling through old photos of what we were like — only to be reminded that those photos are dated to 20-frickin-15 in our pre-adult days, and that we DO put effort in consistently now
Don’t let your body 20 years ago or your body from when you were a 17 year old kid become your benchmark — nothing you do will ever feel “enough” because that time is now irrelevant
⭐️ Focus on your “now.” Be encouraged by your “now”. Work with your “now” !!
Not with your “but when I was in high school” or “before I had kids”. You’ve got your badass lil “now”. Day by day & week by week.
Quick story time: 3 years ago I gave up resistance & sweaty workouts for a few months because I was “losing my thigh gap” (the arbitrary trend at the time) & did some dancing ballerina YouTube stuff in my room (absolutely nothing against ballet btw — the point is I hated it omfg 😂).
Can you imagine?!!! I gave up the lifestyle that makes me feel strong & badass & empowered & so confident to resist the natural changes my body was inevitably going through ?! To abide to a trend that 3 years later is flipped on its back to “big ass & curvezzzz”?!
So f*ck the trends, f*ck your old comparisons —
Work with & cheer on & feel proud of YOUR “now”💪🏼❤️
INSIGHT TO ACTION CHALLENGE:
Write down how you feel about your current “now”, it’s good to be honest and acknowledge your feelings. Realise that these feelings show you that you care.
Next up: write what you appreciate about your current efforts & how they are helping you NOW. Write a lil list! Do it :) Living in a constant state of dissatisfaction or wishing for another time is discouraging, whereas feeling enthusiastic & appreciating our current efforts is empowering.
Finally, if you’d like to: take a pic, share your whole thought process in our private FB group and/or on your stories tagging me (@adrianablancfit, @wearecapable_lifestyle, & your accountability buddy!). You never know who is watching your journey & can be massively inspired by you.
Love you! You’re capable af.
